Don Bartch, Principal

Principal Don BartchI love being the principal of Overall Creek Elementary School. I have been in education for twenty three years. In 2005 I was named the assistant principal at Scales Elementary and was a part of opening that campus as well. Since then I was named the principal at Scales in June of 2012 and the duties for Overall Creek were handed to me in January of 2014. In May of 2019 I was awarded the Excellence in STEM Leadership Award from the Tennessee STEM Innovation Network and the Tennessee State Department of Education.

I have been blessed with experience at the high school, middle school and elementary levels. I have taught physical education, health, anatomy and physiology, and technology. Additionally, I have coached high school football, middle school football, powerlifting, and my children's soccer teams for ten years. Often coaching two teams in the same season.

I was born and raised in a southern suburb of Minneapolis, Burnsville, Minnesota. I went to college at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas where I eventually met my wife of more than twenty-three years. We have three amazing children, our two daughters are attending college at Harding University. Additionally, we have a son attending high school in the Rutherford County District. One of my favorite things to do is to go camping with my family and friends. I prefer the outdoors and the months of October and November are ideal. I also enjoy just spending time with my family.
